How we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use ModuleMedics.
Last updated: 1 September 2026
1. Who we are
ModuleMedics is operated by Kovac Services Ltd, a specialist automotive electronics workshop based at Unit F, Leona Trading Estate, Nimmings Road, Halesowen, B62 9JQ, United Kingdom. We provide component-level repair of DQ200 DSG7 transmission control modules (TCMs) for vehicle owners, independent garages and motor traders across the UK and Europe.
For the purposes of UK data protection law (including the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR) and EU GDPR, we are the data controller of the personal information you provide to us through this website.
2. What personal data we collect
We only collect the personal data we need to run our repair service and respond to you:
- Contact & identity details — name, email address, phone number and any details you give us in an enquiry, quote request or message.
- Order & address details — delivery and (where different) billing address, so we can send and return your module and process payment.
- Vehicle & unit details — vehicle make, model, year, registration, part number, fault codes and symptoms you share, so we can diagnose and repair your unit.
- Payment details — card and payment information is handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your full card details on our servers.
- Technical data — basic information such as browser type, referring pages and general location (country/region) collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7 below).
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- provide the DQ200 TCM repair service you have requested, including receiving, testing, repairing and returning your unit;
- process payments and issue invoices/receipts;
- respond to your enquiries, quotes and support requests;
- send you order updates, tracking information and repair reports;
- fulfil our legal, tax and accounting obligations; and
- where you have given consent, send you occasional marketing communications about our services — you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We only share it with the service providers listed in Section 5, who help us operate the business.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR we process your data on the following lawful bases:
- Contract — to carry out the repair service you have booked and to fulfil our obligations to you.
- Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting and other legal requirements.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and improve our service, respond to enquiries and prevent fraud.
- Consent — for optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. Customer order and accounting records are typically retained for up to 6 years after the end of our relationship to meet legal and tax requirements. Enquiry data that does not lead to an order is retained for a shorter period (normally up to 12 months) and then deleted.
8. Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements);
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about how we use your data, email us at info@modulemedics.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
9. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. Payment details are encrypted and processed by our PCI-compliant payment provider. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "last updated" date below. We encourage you to review it periodically.
